Maija Isola laid the foundation for Marimekko as a print house. When Armi Ratia banned flower patterns at Marimekko, Isola rebelled and painted a complete collection of graphic, pop-art-inspired floral fabrics. Among them was Unikko, which has been continuously printed since its launch. This joyful rug in a bold pattern and a vibrant orange red colour palette has been hand tufted in India by a selected manufacturer. A high-quality New Zealand wool has been used for the yarns creating a thick, and soft pile.
